Dortmund Retain Support For Nuri Sahin Amid Losing Streak
The Borussia Dortmund hierarchy have thrown their weight behind manager Nuri Sahin despite their faltering start to the season.
Dortmund were knocked out of the DFB-Pokal by Wolfsburg on Tuesday following a 1-0 defeat.
The Black and Yellows have now lost their last three matches across all competitions and lie seventh on the Bundesliga table.
Sahin was appointed in the summer to replace Edin Terzic but has endured a rocky start to his first managerial role.
Nonetheless, Dortmund are determined to stand by their former midfielder and believe he is capable of turning things around.
"It is clear that we are not satisfied with the overall situation of our results," Dortmund's Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl said in the aftermath of the cup exit.
"But we have to stick together and work hard on things. We are lagging behind in our goals. But we will go through it together.
"This is a situation that Dortmund has handled successfully in the past.
"The atmosphere in the changing room was one of frustration, very quiet," Kehl added on Dortmund's cup exit.
"At the end of the day, we have now been eliminated and that is very bitter."
Dortmund will be eager to get back to winning ways when they face RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga this weekend.
