Chiesa Seals £12.5m Transfer From Juventus To Liverpool

Chiesa has signed a four-year contract for Liverpool, ending a four-year stay at Juventus.

The former Fiorentina winger is new Liverpool manager Arne Slot's first addition to his squad for the new season.

Chiesa scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for Juventus last season but was deemed surplus to requirements by new manager Thiago Motta for this season.

Speaking to Liverpool's official website, Chiesa said: "I'm so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, 'Do you want to join Liverpool?' – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans.

"So, I’m so happy and I can't wait to get started."

Chiesa will wear the number 14 jersey at his new club.

He was part of the Italy squad that won the European Championship in 2020.
