Carvajal Undergoes Successful Surgery After Season-Ending Knee Injury
Real Madrid have announced that right back Dani Carvajal has undergone a successful knee surgery following his ACL injury last weekend.
While the European Champions stopped short of putting a timeframe on Carvajal's recovery, it is anticipated that he will miss the rest of the season.
The 32-year-old suffered the injury in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal when he tangled with Yeremy Pino late on and had to leave the pitch in tears.
Carvajal has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid this season, scoring one goal.
"Our player Dani Carvajal has undergone successful surgery today on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and posterior-external instability in his right knee, under the supervision of Real Madrid's Medical Services," the Spanish capital club said in a statement.
"Carvajal will begin his recovery process in the next few days," added Madrid, in accordance with the rehabilitation plan, which is expected to last between eight and 10 months.
