Brentford And Aston Villa Get FA Charge Following Tempestuous Encounter

Villa came from behind to win 2-1 at the G-Tech Community Stadium in a game that produced several flashpoints.

Both sides finished the game with ten men after Ben Mee was sent off for the hosts for serious foul play and Boubacar Kamara was dismissed late on for violent conduct.

Overall, ten players received yellow cards while managers Thomas Frank and Unai Emery received cautions.

There was also a scuffle involving both sets of players when Ollie Watkins scored Villa's winner as Brentford players took exception to his celebration.

"Brentford allegedly failed to ensure that their players did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way during the 85th minute," said an FA statement.

"It's further alleged that the club failed to ensure their players and/or technical area occupants did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way during the 98th minute.

"Aston Villa also allegedly failed to ensure that their players did not behave in an improper and/or provocative way during the 85th minute.
