Bailly Rejoins Villarreal On 18-Month Contract After Messy Besiktas Exit
Eric Bailly has rejoined Villarreal on an 18-month contract following his messy exit from Besiktas.
The 29-year-old's contract with the Turkish giants was terminated on Friday after he had been excluded from first team duties at the start of the month.
Bailly only joined Besiktas in September as a free agent after seven years on the books of Manchester United.
He featured just eight times for Besiktas before his contract was terminated four months into a one-year contract.
Bailly previously played for Villarreal between January 2015 and June 2016 before sealing a £30m move to become Jose Mourinho's first signing as Manchester United manager.
Bailly has won 49 caps for Ivory Coast and was a key member of their 2015 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad.
Bailly has however been excluded from the Ivory Coast squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations next month.
