Alexis Sanchez Completes Sensational Return To Udinese After 13 Years Away
Alexis Sanchez has completed a sensational return to Udinese 13 years after initially leaving the club.
Sanchez was a free agent after his contract at Inter Milan expired at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
The 35-year-old starred for Udinese between 2008 and 2011, before embarking on stints at Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille.
Sanchez has signed a two-year contract with the side that finished 14th in Serie A last season.
“Here is where he became a champion, here is where he found the love of the region, here where the legend began: El Niño Maravilla is back among us, El Niño Maravilla is once again a Bianconeri player,” Udinese wrote in a statement on the club website.
Sanchez is a two-time Copa America winner, having won 166 caps and scored 51 goals for Chile.
Udinese start their Serie A campaign away at Bologna on August 18.
