Liverpool Strike Deal With Feyenoord To Appoint Slot As New Manager
Liverpool have agreed a deal with Feyenoord to make Arne Slot their new manager.
The Reds will pay the Dutch side an initial £7.7m in compensation for Slot to move to Anfield at the end of the season.
Liverpool had been in the market for a new man in the dugouts after Jurgen Klopp decided to step down at the end of the campaign.
Slot has been in charge of Feyenoord since the summer of 2021 and has won one Eredivisie title and one Dutch Cup.
The 45-year-old has even won Klopp over with his brand of football at Feyenoord.
"I like the way his team play football. All the things I hear about him as a guy say he’s a good guy," Klopp said at a press conference on Friday.
"I like that a lot - good guy, good coach and looking forward for the club if he is the solution. I’m more than happy, it sounds all really good."
Asked about the job Slot would be taking on if appointed, Klopp added: “Best job in the world, best club in the world. Now it looks like [Slot is] helped by [Liverpool] not finishing on a high so there’s space for improvement."
