Inter Milan Complete Buchanan Signing From Club Brugge

Buchanan has cost the Serie A leaders €10m and becomes their first signing of the winter transfer window.

The 24-year-old Canadian will provide reinforcement for Simone Inzaghi's side from right wing-back position.

Buchanan has been on the books of Club Brugge since the summer of 2021, going on to make 67 appearances and scoring five goals.

Buchanan won the Belgium league title with Brugge in the 2021/2022 season.

A statement on Inter’s official club website read: “A long journey that started in Brampton and has taken him all the way to Milano: Tajon’s Nerazzurri dream has only just begun.”

Asked why he decided to join Inter, Buchanan replied: “At this point in my career, it felt like the right choice and the right fit. Obviously I’ve been watching Inter for a very long time and it just felt like a team and a place I saw myself playing at and I’m excited for the future.

“Take it day by day, control what I can control. That’s coming in, working hard and trying to adapt as quickly as possible. Learn from the coaching staff, learn from the guys who are here already, who have been in this league for a very long time. I’m eager to learn and ready to help the team.

“I’m here to learn and trying to adapt as quickly as possible. I’m very versatile and I bring a lot to the table, I can play a lot of different positions.”

Buchanan, who featured at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, could make his Inter debut against Hellas Verona this weekend.
