Crystal Palace Sign Colombia Defender Daniel Munoz From Genk
Crystal Palace have brought in right back Daniel Munoz from Belgium side Genk for £6.9m.
The Colombia international has signed a contract until 2027 with the option of an extra year.
The 27-year-old is Palace's first signing of the winter transfer window.
Roy Hodgson's side are 15th on the Premier League table, five points above the relegation zone.
Munoz has been with Genk since the summer of 2020, winning the Belgium Cup in his first season.
Munoz has scored seven goals in 29 appearances across all competitions for Genk this season.
"It's a pleasure for me to be here at such a historic club, such a big club as Crystal Palace. I'm very excited, very happy, and I can't wait to be on the pitch," Munoz said.
"I think it's a dream come true for me and I hope to be up to the task."
Chairman Steve Parish added: “We are delighted to welcome a player of Daniel's quality and character to the club.
“He has experience at the highest level for club and country, and he possesses an impressive record going forwards for a full-back. I am certain his ability, athleticism and tenacity will be a huge boost to the squad for the remainder of the season, and beyond.”
Munoz has won 22 caps for the Colombia national team.
