EPL Round Up: Diaz Off The Mark For Liverpool, Ziyech Saves Chelsea At The Death

Newly crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions Chelsea needed a late Hakim Ziyech goal to see off Crystal Palace while Liverpool new boy Luis Diaz opened his account in a comeback win for the Reds in the Premier League on Saturday.

Chelsea won 1-0 at Selhurst Park to cement their third place spot thanks to Ziyech’s 89th minute winner.

Liverpool had to come from behind to beat Norwich City at Anfield. Milot Rashica gave the visitors the lead early in the second half with a deflected effort but Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Diaz hit back to secure all three points for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Newcastle United’s mini revival under Eddie Howe continued at the London stadium with a 1-1 draw against West Ham United; Joe Willock cancelling out Craig Dawson’s opener.

Burnley moved off the foot of the table thanks to a first away win of the season at Brighton and Hove Albion. New signing Wout Weghorst, Josh Brownhill and Jay Rodriguez scored the goals in a 3-0 win for Sean Dyche’s men.

Emmanuel Denis struck a late winner for Watford at Aston Villa while Southampton beat Everton 2-0 at the Saint Mary’s stadium.

Arsenal avenged their opening day defeat to Brentford by beating the Bees 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
