The France international has played just eight games in all competitions this season, having been ruled out for majority of the season with an ankle injury.
Questions have been raised over Pogba’s commitment and desire at Old Trafford and has been linked with a move away from Manchester, with top European clubs like Juventus, Paris Saint-German and Real Madrid waiting in the wings to sign him.
Ahead of Manchester United’s short trip to face local rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final, Solskjaer has reiterated that the Frenchman is desperate to come back, but says it remains unclear as to when Pogba will return.
"Paul has had a terrible season with injuries, he is desperate to play football," the former Molde FK and Cardiff City manager told reporters.
"It is hard to put timescales on long-term injuries," Solskjaer added.
"He loves playing and he loves just being out there training as well, and it has been playing on his mind.
"I see a boy that is fed up of being injured. Paul has always been a top professional. I do not have any doubts when he comes back he's going to enjoy himself."
