Daniel Alves Open To Barcelona Return

Daniel Alves Open To Barcelona Return

Daniel Alves has claimed that he's ready to join his former side Barcelona if they call for his services.

Ending a two-year spell at Sao Paulo, the most decorated footballer is currently without a club.

Suggesting his presence could be of help in developing the abilities of the youngsters at the Camp Nou, Alves won't hesitate to answer the call from Barcelona.

"It would sound very opportunistic to say that Barca need me now," the veteran defender told Sport.

"I always said that I left because I saw things were not the way I thought they should be.

"You never want to see everything that [has] ended up happening since I left. I've said that when Barca need me and want me, I would be at their disposal regardless of where I am. The affection, love and respect I have for this club is too much.

"If Barca think they need me, they just have to call me. I still think I can contribute anywhere, but more at Barca because of the number of young players that they have now."

Dani Alves' eight successful seasons in Spain, saw him winning 25 major honours.

Barcelona brought in Alves from Sevilla as he signed a four-year contract with the Catalan club.

Alves was part of the Brazilian squad that won gold at the Olympics, sealing his legacy as the most decorated player in football history.
