Gerrard Sends Tribute Message To Retire Peter Crouch

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has paid tribute to his former teammate Peter Crouch, who announced his retirement from football on Friday.

Crouch, 38, has now decided to call it a day on his football career after a shot-term with the Turf Moor outfit Burnley, featuring just six times in the Premier League for the Clarets last season.

During his spell with Liverpool, Crouch played alongside Gerrard as they won the FA Cup and also finished runners up in the 2007 Champions League final.

And Gerrard believes the former England international has had a great football career as he also thanked him for the kind of combination they had in their days at Liverpool.

“Congratulations big man @crouchy on a great career and thank you for all the assists you gave me. I used to love playing with you and loved sharing a dressing room also. What a guy, all the best for the future”

Gerrard ventured into football management after retiring form the sport as he is the headcoach for Scottish Premiership club, Rangers.

Crouch holds the record of 53 headed goals in the Premier League having made 548 English League appearances for nine clubs.

Spending three years at Anfield, the tall striker scored 22 goals in 85 appearances for the Merseyside club.

Crouch, will now concentrate on his media job as he is the host of BBC’s 'That Peter Crouch Podcast'.
