Manchester United have not won any trophy since 2017 despite being one of the big spenders in the Premier League.
Solskjaer was brought in to replace Jose Mourinho in December 2018, who was sacked after the Red Devils’ poor start to the 2018/2019 season.
The Norwegian coach seems to have steadied the ship since taking over but United are still yet to win trophies despite getting close in many times.
With the arrival of Ronaldo from Juventus before the closure of this summer’s transfer window, Berbatov believes the Portugal superstar is the final piece of Solskjaer’s jigsaw.
“I think everyone is excited, even people who don’t like him or United,” the former Manchester United striker told talkSPORT. “He’s home now, nobody expected it, me as well, I was shocked but in a positive way.
“I hope everybody is going to get that mentality boost and finally, after so long, challenge and win the Premier League.
“He knows how to win things and that’s why it’s very important that the young players around him start learning what a true winner is.
“When you need that special moment if the game is 0-0 or you’re having a bad day you need that special someone in your team like Ronaldo
“It’s the same with Pochettino in PSG, expectation rockets high, he needs to win everything as it’s the same now with Ole and Manchester United because Ronaldo is there.
“If Ole doesn’t win silverware then it’s probably going to be considered a disappointing season.
“Ole has a power option going forward with the striker position, it puts more pressure on him, it puts more pressure on the strikers, but football is that sometimes – pressure.”
