The Royal Spanish Football Federation postponed the match between Barcelona and Real Madrid which was scheduled to take place on 26th October 2019.
El Clasico was postponed due to the political unrest in the city of Catalonia after nine Catalan separatist leaders were jailed for between nine and 13 years for their role in an illegal referendum and subsequent failed independence bid.
Both have now been told that they have until Monday, at 10:00am (CET) to agree on a new date, or a date will be chosen for them by La Liga.
Zidane was speaking to the media ahead of Real Madrid’s visit to Mallorca on Saturday and the Frenchman has insisted that his men are ready to take on the La Liga champions whenever they are told to.
"I know that you're interested about this topic, but we're going to do what they tell us to," Zidane said about the situation.
"If we have to play on October 26, we will do it and if there's a change of date, the most important thing is that we're prepared”.
"I know there's a lot of debate because it's logical but my position as coach is this; be ready for the date that they tell us [to play]. We will adapt”.
"I have a preference but I'm not going to tell you, we know that it could be December 7 or 18, we're adapting to this”
"What I think is that [I will do] what they say and we'll play when asked to. Like everyone, I don't like violence, but no one does. I'm not going to get involved in this because I don't like violence."
