Tuchel labeled Lukaku as ‘a fantastic player’ but insists he will not talk about ‘players that do not play for Chelsea.’
The Belgium superstar is said to be close to returning to the Premier League just two years after joining the Nerazzurri from Manchester United.
Chelsea have reportedly tabled a €100 million offer that was immediately turned down by the Italian champions, but are preparing another offer which will lure the 28-year-old back to Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel was speaking to the media right after Chelsea’s stalemate against their London rivals and he was quickly asked about the potential arrival of Lukaku.
The German tactician said: "I will not talk about players who don't play in my squad. Romelu Lukaku is a fantastic player but he's an Inter player and, with all due respect, I will not talk about him in this situation."
Tuchel was further asked if the former Everton and West Bromwich Albion man is willing to join the current champions of Europe.
The 47-year-old replied sarcastically: "Everyone wants to come, hopefully! Well, not everyone unfortunately but you can imagine a lot of players want to come and join. But like I said, we will not comment on that."
