Buffon has rejoined his former side Parma after winning the Coppa Italia with Juventus last season.
The former Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper seems to be happy by the reappointment of Allegri to Juventus as he also reflects on the disappointments faced last term.
“I think that Juve, as a team, have all the credentials to win the Scudetto again,” Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.
“It’s often talk of disappointment regarding last year, despite winning the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.
“But the expectations were different, and this feeling of disappointment remained. Now they will ask Allegri to win the Scudetto and no one knows what Juve need to recover like him.”
Buffon who played with Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci at both club and country for years revealed he's not surprised by their performances in Italy’s Euro 2020 truimph.
“Chiellini and Bonucci are not surprises, they are points of reference.
“Every self-respecting national team needs the experience, solidity and certainty of some players.
“Having said that, for me, [Marco] Verratti is a champion and Jorginho is a top-level footballer, the surprises were undoubtedly [Federico] Chiesa and [Gianluigi] Donnarumma.”
The 43-year-old, who is the most capped Italy's player of all-time with 176 appearances will now feature in the Serie B following Parma's exit from the top-flight, finishing last in the league log with just 20 points in thirty-eight matches.
Having lost the Serie A title to Inter Milan last season, Juventus will look to reclaim the trophy from the Nerazzurri when they begin their 2021-22 campaign away with Udinese on 22 August at the Stadio Fruili.
