Cole believes Tuchel should now be mentioned in the same breath with some of Chelsea’s best head coaches.
Tuchel was appointed to replace Frank Lampard in January following a poor streak of form from the Blues.
The German quickly transformed Chelsea into one of the best teams as Chelsea rose from ninth to secure a top four finish in the Premier League.
He guided Chelsea to the FA Cup and Champions League finals, but the West Londoners could not win the former as they were beaten by Leicester City at Wembley.
Chelsea arrived in the Champions League final as underdogs despite Tuchel having the Indian sign over Pep Guardiola and his side since his joined the London-based team.
The former Paris Saint-Germain manager tactically stifled the free-flowing football of his counterpart, and Kai Havertz’s first half goal proved to be the match winner.
Cole, who was watching on in Porto as a pundit, says Tuchel is now on par with some of Chelsea’s previous managers.
“We thought he was one of the brightest young managers in world football and now he has proved it and he’s going to go down in the folklore of this club alongside some great names, some great managers,” the former Chelsea winger said.
“Mourinho, Ancelotti, Di Matteo won the Champions League, he’s a club favourite.”
