Spurs Interim Boss Hails ‘A Great Performance’ After Win Against Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their push for next season’s European football with a 2-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Sunday and interim head coach Ryan Mason was left impressed with his side’s display.

Mason believes his side were a bit unlucky not to have scored more against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The visitors kept the hosts at bay until Harry Kane broke the deadlock on the cusp of halftime with his 22nd goal of the Premier League season.

Midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg completed Tottenham’s victory midway through the second half, and the was enough to take Spurs to sixth on the Premier League table.

Speaking to the media after the game, Mason said:“Excellent, we created lots of chances and the scoreline was probably a bit flattering to them.

“There were big moments, their keeper made a couple of good saves, we hit the post three times and dominated the game in the second half, so really pleased."

He was further asked about Kane’s first half opener, and Mason said: "It was an excellent moment. That's the way we want to play, threatening in behind. It was a moment of real quality.

"I think I've had three goals disallowed by VAR in the last three games so I was a bit worried, but they were great goals and a great performance from the group."

He concluded: "It was important to get that moment and feeling back, when you win it feels good and when you lose it hurts.

"That's three wins out of four now, we are moving well but there are two massive games coming up. We put this out of our minds and move on to Wednesday."
