Despite admitting that Real Madrid are still in the tie, Morrison says the Blues will cause problems to the Spaniards.
Chelsea started the game on the front foot and missed glaring chances, but still took the lead in the opening 14 minutes through Christian Pulisic.
Los Blancos pulled parity on 29 minutes when striker Karim Benzema took down a flick from Eder Militao to acrobatically smash the ball past Eduardo Mendy and that was enough to settle matters in the first leg.
“It was a really entertaining first half but the second wasn't as good but you can understand that,” Morrison said after the game.
"Chelsea are favourites now, getting the away goal, but Madrid are still in this and can cause problems."
Former England defender Rio Ferdinand believes Real Madrid have now realized the quality of the West Londoners.
He said: "Madrid know they are in a real tie now. If anyone was not sure what Chelsea are about they have shown now they can make it difficult for a lot of teams."
Chelsea will be back in action on Saturday when they entertain local rivals Fulham in the Premier League London Derby before welcoming Real Madrid for the second leg encounter next week.
