The England international has impressed at the San Siro since his January move to the Serie A from Chelsea.
Just like the other Chelsea academy graduate, the 23-year-old broke into the first team in Frank Lampard’s first season as head coach and made 23 appearances in all competitions for the Blues last season.
Tomori moved down the perking order at Stamford Bridge this season and was only reduced to four appearances, a reason which forced him to secure a loan move to AC Milan.
The Englishman has fit in perfectly and has made 12 appearances for the Rossoneri since he joined and Baresi has insisted the Italian club are doing everything to make the move permanent.
The former Italy international told Gazzetta dello Sport: “We’ll do everything to sign him on a permanent deal.
“Two months are remaining until the end of the season, and it’s not only up to Milan.”
“Tomori is imposing himself with talent and determination. He has shown no fear to play in a new league. Potentially, he can become a great champion. I hope he lives up to expectations.”
AC Milan have progressed a lot in the 2020-2021 season and are now taking measures to secure the future of another key performer Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract expires in the summer.
The former center-back added: “We know his qualities. He’s grown up at Milan and we know how important he could be in the coming years.”
