Mount has arguably been Chelsea’s best player this season under Frank Lampard and has not stopped delivering after the arrival of Tuchel.
Many thought the 22-year-old was being favoured by Lampard and the arrival of the German coach would limit Mount’s involvement in the first team but that has not been the case.
Mount was dropped to the bench in Tuchel’s first game against Wolverhampton Wanderers but has since been one of Chelsea’s best performers.
The former Derby County loanee was the catalyst when Chelsea beat Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield last month, as his winning goal secured the Blues first win in the red half of Merseyside since 2014.
Mount believes Tuchel’s decision to bench him against Wolves did good to him as it helped him up his game.
“I’ve had that experience before,” said Mount as quoted by Daily Mail.
“I was on loan at Vitesse Arnhem when I was 18, 19. That first couple of months I didn’t play hardly at all.”
“I had that motivation and that fire to want to get into the team. The first game with the manager coming in, he went for a more experienced team.”
“I understood that and wanted to get back into the team, so that motivation and that fire that I have inside me came out.
“I really tried to push to get back into the team. It’s been brilliant. We are working very hard. We’ve had tough games in this last period but we have come through it. It’s exciting stuff, we continue to work hard. It’s been a great start.
Mount is currently away on international duty with the England squad preparing to face San Marino, Albania and Poland in the World Cup qualifiers.
