The Blues will be bidding to reach their first semi-final since 2014 at the expense of the Portuguese side but Tuchel has warned against complacency.
Chelsea could have been drawn against either of their Premier League rivals Liverpool or Manchester City and Tuchel has admitted he is happy playing against an ‘international team.’
"I am happy we are playing an international team and not an English team because Champions League is about that and I prefer to play against teams from other countries,” Tuchel said in his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup game against Sheffield United on Sunday.
“The second leg is at home which feels good to start with an away game and have a slight advantage to finish at home."
The German coach said it will be dangerous to underestimate Porto, a side which qualified to the quarter-final at the expense of Juventus, despite inssiting his men remain confident to progress.
"You can ask in Turin if it helps to be favourites, it does not. We are self-confident and self-confidence is strongly connected with our performances and we are confident we face a strong opponent with all the respect."
"Now that we're in quarter-final is thinking about winning it and reaching the semi-finals and we are confident enough that we see our chances."
