The Bianconeri have not make a bright start to the domestic season winning two and drawing two of their first four matches but Pirlo is adamant his men can turn things around.
Juventus’ latest outing ended in a 1-1 draw against newly promoted side Crotone at the Stadio Ezio Scida on Saturday.
Pirlo’s men had to get back on track thanks to Alvaro Morata’s 21st minute strike after Simeon Nwankwo gave the hosts a deserved lead from the penalty spot.
Speaking to the media after the game, Pirlo admitted his young players must improve in order to win such tricky games.
“Unfortunately, we went down to 10 men in the last two games because of our errors, but we are a young team that needs to work and there hasn’t been much time for that with so many internationals,” the Italian coach told DAZN.
“Young players need to gain experience by playing in matches and it can happen that they make naïve errors as part of the learning process.
“We built a team with quality, but it is still a work in progress and needs time. The lads will learn through mistakes, unfortunately that also means taking a few risks in the early matches of the season.”
Early pacesetters AC Milan are now top of the table with a 100 per cent record, followed by Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta on nine, Juventus and Napoli eight, then Inter Milan on seven.
Pirlo added: “We knew there would be a lot of teams fighting for the Scudetto who invested heavily.
“It’ll be a battle, we will fight it out point by point. We’ve dropped a few already, but I am confident we’ll end up on top again.”
