Vinicius Junior Says He Can Become A Superstar At Bernabeu

Brazil and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior is convinced he can become a superstar at the Santiago Bernabeu after an impressive start to the 2020/2021 season.

Vinicius officially joined Los Blancos from Flamengo in July 2018, for a fee of €46 million, making him the most expensive player under the age of 19 at the time.

The Brazilian showed his potential in his first season in Madrid as he racked up 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals. He followed up with nine goal involvements in 38 games last season.

Vinicius has started this campaign with two goals in three games. He admitted he is happy with his promising start to the season and insists he will work hard to improve.

“I’m feeling really good and am happy with the form that the team and I are showing because we’re currently top of the league. We have to keep it up, continue to work hard and improve on the things we’re not doing in the games,” the 20-year-old told Real Madrid TV.

“This season is different to the others and we’re struggling a bit to get going, but when we all get back after the international break, we’ll return in better shape to stay top of the pile.”

“For my goal against Levante, I controlled the ball really well, I had the time to think and look where I was going to put it. I put it where I wanted to make it 1-0 and we went on to win the game, which was the most important thing”.

“I joined Madrid at the age of 18 and everything was new to me. I continue to learn and develop to help Madrid now and in the future.”

“Just keep working hard, both at the club and at home and follow the right rest and nutrition regime so as to be at my best. I’m going to continue improving a lot to help in every aspect. I want to lift the treble.”

“I ain’t scared of losing the ball. I’ll always remain the same so that people believe in me and trust in my ability to help the team, because my bold approach really helps us when we’re losing or drawing games”.
