Official: Atalanta And Lokomotiv Moscow Reach Agreement For Miranchuk

Atalanta have reached an agreement to sign forward Aleksei Miranchuk from Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow.

The Russia international had long been linked with a move to Gewiss Stadium and now the Serie A side have confirmed they have met the asking price of Lokomotiv Moscow which in is the region of €14.5m, plus a percentage of his sell-on fee.

Miranchuk was instrumental in the 2019/2020 season as he helped the Parovozy to a second-place finish in the Russian Premier League, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists in 27 appearances.

Lokomotiv Moscow took to their official club website to announce the imminent departure of the 24-year-old.

“Lokomotiv and Atalanta have reached an agreement in principle on the transfer of Aleksei Miranchuk to the Italian club, pending a medical,” read a statement.

Miranchuk said goodbye to the Lokomotiv Moscow fans and reveals it is now time to follow his dream.

“I want to thank all the Lokomotiv fans,” he said.

“I became a professional football player and a man with you here. We won everything together. I want to thank everyone for being there for me during good times and bad.

“It’s now time for me to follow my dream, but this is not goodbye, it is a see you soon!”

Miranchuk spent seven years at Lokomotiv, winning five trophies at the RZD Arena.
