Marquinhos has labeled the Bundesliga outfit as fearless and insists they can cause an upset if they are taken for granted.
RB Leipzig was founded in 2009 and earned a promotion to the Bundesliga in 2016. The Saxony-based club are only playing the Champions League for the second time in their history but have already knocked teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid to reach their first semi-final.
Despite PSG being touted as the favourites to make it to the final, Marquinhos insists it will take an enormous effort to eliminate Die Roten Bullen.
“They are a young team and fearless, as they’ve shown already in this Champions League season. They’ve played great,” the former AS Roma man told UEFA.com.
“In the previous match against Atletico Madrid, they totally dominated the game. So, we know we’ll have to give our best. Nowadays, relying on prestige doesn’t get you anywhere.
“We’ve seen that playing as a team, having a strategy and playing with strength make a huge difference on the pitch. So, we simply have to do our best and play at our highest level.”
PSG are looking to make it to the final of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
