The Hornets moved six points clear of the relegation zone after they scored twice from the penalty spot through Troy Deeney in the second-half to cancel Dwight Gayle’s 23rd minute opener.
Newcastle United should have been home and dry during the opening stages of the game if not for their profligacy.
In an interview with the media following the hosts' significant step towards Premier Leaguer survival, Pearson said it does not matter how they win their remaining games, and warned his team to be alert as he thinks the relegation battle is far from over.
“It doesn’t matter how we win at the moment, as long as we do. And this gives us a little bit more of a chance,” the Englishman said.
“Until this past week we had not won from a losing position and we have done it twice now, so I understand that at times there is going to be some anxiety because of the fragility of our position, but we are working very, very hard.
“First half wasn’t good enough for us, but the players know that, it is not about ranting and raving. It is about trying to give them the encouragement they need to go out and be what they are, which is good players.”
He added: We have to keep focus, don't think the job is done. We are working hard - back in December it didn't look possible but throughout it all we have tried to remain positive.”
“You've always got a better chance if the collective is stronger than the individial.”
Next up for Watford is a game against West Ham United on Friday.
