Jenkinson Joins Nottingham Forest On A Permanent Deal

Departed Arsenal fullback Carl Jenkinson has joined Championship side, Nottingham Forest on a permanent deal.

The England international has signed a three-year contract with the Forest for an undisclosed fee, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

“Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of England international defender Carl Jenkinson.

“The right-back moves to the City Ground for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Arsenal, penning a three-year contract.”

Passing through the ranks of Charlton, Jenkinson joined Arsenal in 2011 but failed to cement a place in the first team.

With his inability to secure a place at the Emirates, the 27-year-old spent two years on loan with West Ham United and another with Birmingham City.

After Nottingham’s confirmation, Arsenal also released a statement on their official website wishing the defender well in his new challenge.

“We would like to thank Carl for his contribution to the club and everyone at Arsenal wishes him all the best for his future. The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”

Jenkinson, having completed his move to Nottingham Forest is available for the side’s trip to Leeds on Sunday for matchday two in the 2019/20 Championship season.

The former Finland youth player featured just thrice in the Premier League for Arsenal last season, as they finished fifth on the league log.

Having a finn mother, Jenkinson played for the Finland under-21 before committing future to England as he has featured just once for the Three Lions.
