Ziyech signed for Chelsea last month in a move worth around £37 million, but will stay with Ajax until the end of the season before joining the West Londoners.
Frank Lampard’s men have been inconsistent this season as they find it harder to breakdown defensive opponents.
Poyet believes Ziyech has the technical talent to succeed at Stamford Bridge but insists he might struggle to adapt to life in his early days in London.
"I thought last year he was outstanding, every time he got the ball you thought something would happen with creating chances and scoring goals," the 52-year-old told Goal. "He is more individual than I was!”
