Manchester United Have What It Takes To Beat Liverpool, Says Solskjaer

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted his men have the requisite wherewithal to beat runaway league leaders Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool are currently unbeaten in the Premier League, having taken 61 points out of a possible 63.

Manchester United are the latest team tasked to stop Jurgen Klopp’s red-hot brigades after impressing in this reverse fixture in October, that was the only time Liverpool failed to win a game in the Premier League this season.

Despite the Reds’ devastating form, Solskjaer remains unshaken and insists his team have the tactical capacity to humble their bitter rivals, with a PSG-like performance.

"It will take a massive performance, it will take a performance up to our best levels,” the 46-year-old said.

“It will take a performance we've shown before that we are capable of. Man City away, PSG away, big games for us to look back on and think: 'Yeah, we can do it”

"Since I've been here we have met Liverpool twice - two draws at Old Trafford - and I think we've done well, with different approaches in both games.”

“It gives us a couple of options of how to play against them.”

Manchester United have recorded only three away wins in the league this season, but the Norwegian coach said he is not worried with the away form of his team, as the recent performances at Etihad Stadium and Turf Moor shows they are getting back to their brilliant best.

"Not really. We beat City, we beat Burnley lately, and we’re picking up our form. I'm not worried, no.”

“Of course we'd like to win more games, but we do have a team sometimes that can set up in away games and soak up some pressure, counter attack, and some of our best performances have been against good teams away from home.”
