Abraham suffered the injury just minutes after coming on as a second half substitute in AS Roma's final league game of the season against Spezia on Sunday.
The injury came about following a challenge with former Chelsea teammate Ethan Ampadu.
After scoring 27 goals across all competitions in his debut season in the Italian capital, Abraham found goals hard to come by this term, netting just nine times in 54 appearances across all competitions.
Abraham had been linked with a return to England this summer but any potential transfer will have to be shelved for him to concentrate on rehabilitation.
It has been reported by several Italian media outlets that Abraham could miss the rest of the year with his injury.
Earlier today, Abraham posted a message on Instagram, saying, “Thank you for all your messages. I’ll be back soon, stronger than ever!”
Teammate Paulo Dybala replied, “We’ll be waiting for you, brother.”
In all, Abraham has scored 36 goals in 106 appearances for Roma since joining from Chelsea last summer.
