Solskjaer Hails Greenwood After Burnley Heroics

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on Mason Greenwood after the youngster inspired the Red Devils to beat Burnley 3-1 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Solskjaer says he is happy for Greenwood as he thinks the England international keeps improving on his game.

After a slow start to the season, Greenwood seems to have found his scoring boots during the business end of the campaign.

The 19-year-old stole the show last weekend when he came on as a late substitute against Tottenham Hotspur. He scored and assisted to help Solskjaer’s men beat the Londoners.

The Manchester United academy graduate has once again impressed Solskjaer with another dazzling performance against the Clarets.

He broke the deadlock on 48 minutes, but the visitors swiftly replied through James Tarkowski, and Greenwood restored United’s lead on 84 minutes before substitute Edinson Cavani sealed the victory in injury time.

"Very happy for him [Mason Greenwood]. He’s mixing up his game. He goes inside and outside, he's maturing all the time,” Solskjaer told the media after the game.

‘It's lovely to see. He’s put the work in on the training ground and reaps the rewards. Last season he was young, now he’s had almost two seasons in the first team.

“Especially in the last three or four months I’ve seen how mature he is on the training ground and he plays with maturity and understanding. He's very creative but plays simple when he has to.

Greenwood has scored nine goals in 44 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions so far this season.
