Manchester United Manager Solskjaer Slams Early Kick-Off Against Everton

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has criticized the early-kick off time after his side’s 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday.

Manchester United were made to play on Saturday in a lunchtime kick-off at Goodison Park despite a midweek trip to Eastern Europe to face Istanbul Basaksehir on Wednesday.

The Red Devils arrived in England on Thursday morning and had lesser time to prepare for the Everton game.

Solskjaer’s men defied every odd to beat Everton 3-1 thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ first half brace and a late goal from substitute Edinson Cavani.

Speaking to the media after the game, the Norwegian tactician launched a scathing attack against the authorities who are responsible for match scheduling and was quick to praise his men’s performance against the Toffees.

"We were set up to fail. The kick-off time set us up to fail. We have been to Turkey, played loads of games this season already, we got back Thursday morning and we are playing Saturday lunchtime, it's an absolute shambles,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.

"These boys deserve better. Luke Shaw has got injured because of it. It's a hamstring which might be a long one and Marcus Rashford might be struggling.

"The authorities set us up for fail, who is responsible? We've had enough of that. Players this season, in these times, a pandemic, mentally and physically it's draining. Let us play on a Sunday, there's an international break after this, it's a joke.

"The players were brilliant. Cavani is getting better and better."
