Soyuncu’s Agent Rules Out Leicester Exit

Caglar Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, says his client has no intention of leaving Leicester City anytime soon.

Soyuncu has been the biggest beneficiary of Harry Maguire’s record-breaking £80m transfer to Manchester United in the summer.

The 23-year-old Turkish international arrived at the King Power Stadium from German side Freiburg last summer for £19m but made just six Premier League appearances.

On the contrary, Soyuncu has not missed a single minute of Premier League action this season, helping Brendan Rodger’s men to second on the league table.

Leicester City boast the meanest defence in the league this season, conceding just nine goals, as Soyuncu and Jonny Evans have formed a formidable partnership at the back.

Soyuncu’s impressive performances has seen him linked with the likes of Manchester City, who are still on the lookout for Vincent Kompany’s replacement, and Galatasaray, but Dogru has moved swiftly to cool down talk of an exit.

“After such performances in the Premier League, it is quite natural for transfer news to appear,” Dogru told Turkish radio station Radyospor.

“Caglar now focuses on the success of the team. A transfer is neither on his nor the club’s agenda.

“I don't know what's going on in the future, but he's thinking about his achievements at Leicester City and with the national team.”

With Soyuncu in their ranks, Leicester City now pose the biggest threat to leaders Liverpool’s title chances this season.

“I have to say, he’s performing well above our expectations,” Dogru added. “Obviously, we were thinking he would get more playing time this season.

“It’s down Caglar's talent, his mental quality, as well as the influence of his coach and team-mates.

“A football player is always open to development. He makes very healthy decisions under pressure and he is good with both feet, helped by playing as a midfielder in previous teams. His manager's confidence also affects him.

“He can still get much better. He will write his name in gold letters in the history of the Premier League.”
