Kudus and Antony were teammates at Ajax last season but Manchester United priced the Brazilian away for €90m at the start of this season.
Antony has failed to justify his hefty price tag since moving to Old Trafford, having found the back of the net five times in 23 appearances.
He has also drawn criticism for producing flicks and tricks to varying degrees of success since his move.
Kudus on the other hand has impressed for Ajax since Antony's departure and has been one of the Dutch champions' best players this season.
The Ghana international has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances this season, including four in six Champions League outings.
'I find Mohammed Kudus a much better football player than Antony,' Van Basten told Ziggo Sport.
'Antony has his skills, but he is confused with the things he is trying to do!
'Kudus has much better technique and he knows what he is doing. Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical.
'He is much more of a footballer, you can place him anywhere on the pitch, an all-rounder for the team.
'In fact, I like him much better than Antony. He's more fun to watch play.'
Kudus starred for Ghana at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring two goals in three appearances.
