Maddison scored the opening goal as Leicester City defeated the Hammers 2-0 at the London Stadium.
Soon after getting on the scoresheet for the seventh time this season, Maddison went down clutching his hamstring and had to be replaced in the 24th minute by Dennis Praet.
Maddison's early withdrawal caused some consternation among England fans after he was named as part of Gareth Southgate's final 26-man squad.
But Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers insisted afterwards that Maddison's substitution was precautionary, telling reporters: "He's fine. It was just precautionary, a little soreness on the side of the knee. He hasn’t trained a lot this week. He’s okay."
"It should be fine," Maddison said as he left the London Stadium after the match with West Ham.
"Injury isn't too bad! A small problem that was causing a bit of soreness. Can't wait to meet up with the lads Monday," Maddison tweeted after the game.
England play their first game in Qatar against Iran on November 21 and will also take on USA and Wales in their group.
