'I Won't Miss This For The World'- Injured Son Allays World Cup Fears

Son Heung-Min is bent on playing for South Korea at the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar despite being out injured recently.

Son needed surgery for a fracture around his left eye after clashing with Chancel Mbemba in Tottenham's Champions League game against Olympique Marseille last week.

The injury put Son's place in the South Korea World Cup squad at risk but he has allayed those fears.

"I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you all for the messages of support I have received over the last week," the forward wrote on Instagram.

"I have read so many of them and truly, truly appreciate you all.

"In a tough time I received a lot of strength from you. Playing for your country at the World Cup is the dream of so many children growing up, just as it was one of mine too.

"I won’t miss this for the world. I can’t wait to represent our beautiful country. See you soon."

The 30-year-old is the main man for South Korea ahead of the World Cup which kicks off on November 20, with the Asian side in the same group with Uruguay, Ghana and Portugal.

Son, who has five goals in 19 appearances for Tottenham this season, has played in the last two editions of the World Cup.
