Ronaldo snubbed his former Manchester United teammate as he came to warm up on the Old Trafford pitch in the build up to their game against West Ham United on Sunday.
Ronaldo exchanged pleasantries with another ex-United teammate Louis Saha and Jamie Redknapp but walked past Neville, who was in the company of the aforementioned duo.
Ronaldo's move came on the back of Neville criticising the five-time Ballon D'or winner after he opted against coming on as a late substitute in a recent win against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Neville also opined that Manchester United should cut ties with Ronaldo in the January transfer window.
Ferdinand believes those comments have not gone down well with Ronaldo, prompting a breakdown in relationship with Neville.
"I don't think Cristiano is taking that call (if Neville calls him)," Ferdinand said on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
"Knowing Cristiano it's gone isn't it. You've said what you said and believe what you believe. Nev looked nervous [pitch-side], I have seen that face before and he looked nervous 'is he gonna talk to me'.
"I think what I would have done differently if I was recreating that scenario, I would maybe have gone and shook a couple of hands and said: 'you talk too much, cya later' and then gone. Just a little jab in there.''
