Kane led England out in the EURO 2020 final against Italy at Wembley on July 11 but the night turned into disappointment following defeat on penalties.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked to Manchester City straight after the tournament and was accused of going on strike to force a move but Tottenham Hotspurs chairman Daniel Levy would not be coerced into a sale.
Kane has subsequently started the 2021/2022 season on a slow note, scoring just once in ten Premier League games.
'It's never easy, I came off the back of a tournament where you're physically tired, you're mentally tired and all of a sudden three weeks later the Premier League has pretty much started and you're just straight back into it,' Kane said ahead of England’s World Cup qualifier against Albania on Friday.
'It's never easy just to switch that mode back on and start firing on all cylinders again. Your body needs time to respond physically and mentally. It has been a disappointing start personally and for the club.
'There's a lot of work to be done there but it's just about working hard. I know my form will come. People talk about physically what tournaments take out of you but mentally, as players, you go through a lot.
'The highs and lows of a major tournament, coming so close to a dream and it being taken away in such a quick moment.
'And it was my first summer of transfer speculation and having to deal with those situations. So it takes a toll.'
