Eight different Premier League clubs are represented in the shortlist which includes Burnley’s Maxwel Cornet, Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell, Mohamed Salah, Youri Tielemans, Phil Foden, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice and Tino Livramento of Southampton.
Chilwell enjoyed a fantastic goal return for table-topping Chelsea in the month of October, scoring three times in four appearances, including the winner at Brentford and helping the Blues keep three clean sheets along the way.
Cornet scored three times for Burnley last month, including a double against Southampton to continue a fine start to life in England for the Ivorian international.
Foden also scored three times and provided one assist for Manchester City in his four appearances while Ramsdale saved his best performance for Arsenal’s final game against Leicester City, keeping his second clean sheet of the month with a series of stunning stops against the Foxes.
Livramento helped Southampton keep two clean sheets in October and notched his first ever Premier League goal against Burnley.
Tielemans produced two moments of magic with wonderful long-range efforts in wins over Manchester United and Brentford while Rice continued to dominate a West Ham midfield he helped to three wins in October, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
Salah scored five goals and provided four assists last month, including a hattrick in Liverpool’s 5-0 annihilation of Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Elsewhere, Thomas Tuchel, Jurgen Klopp, David Moyes and Patrick Vieira will battle for the manager of the month award.
