Diego Simeone: I Have No Problem With Klopp

Diego Simeone says he has "no problem" with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after failing to shake hands with the German trainer.

Liverpool defeated 10-man Atletico Madrid 3-2 at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday in the Champions League.

The Reds opened the scoring through James Milner in the 8th minute before Naby Keita increased their lead five minutes later.

But Antoine Griezmann scored twice to cancel out Liverpool’s lead for the Spanish club before being sent off in the 52nd minute.

But a last minute penalty saw Mohamed Salah snatching the maximum points for Liverpool.

However, Simeone was furious on the touchline with the decision, having already seen Antoine Griezmann shown a straight red card for catching Roberto Firmino with a high boot.

Right after the final whistle, the Argentine gaffer went straight into the tunnel as he ignored Klopp’s attempts to shake hands with him.

But Simeone suggests he was purposely angry with the result of the game and has "no problem" with Klopp.

“When I’m angry, I respect the situation,” he told reporters in a press conference after the match.

“I have no problem, I just tend to do that when we lose and I’m not happy.

“Yeah I know, just wanted to wind me up, I don’t like that but the situation is clear: I wanted to shake his hand, he didn’t want it,” Klopp said.

“His reaction was run, mine [reaction] was not too cool as well but we are both emotional so when I see him next time we will shake hands definitely and nothing happened."
