The youngster's new contract has a released clause of €1 billion.
But Pedri is not concerned with the huge amount in his new contract, however, is hoping to stay much longer at Camp Nou than 2026.
"I want to thank the president and all the club. I am so happy and I hope to stay many more years after 2026.
“These are difficult times” continued Pedri. “But we are the best club in the world and we’ll go on to achieve great things … All of this has happened very fast and without my mother, father and sister I would never be sitting here today. They help me to keep my feet on the ground and give me advice.
“I don’t know when I’ll be back” he said. “I’m very keen to return the trust by helping the best team in the world to win.”
Being happy with the midfielder committing his future to the club, Joan Laporta said of him;
“This guy just keeps going. Barça, Spain’s national team, Golden Boy, Ballon d’Or… He is very well advised by his representative Héctor and his parents. Thank you very much, Pedri, for your love of Barça and what you’re giving us. At Barça, we’re willing to do whatever you need to keep this dream going.”
Pedri played thirty-seven games in the LaLiga with 3 goals and three assists last term for Barcelona but has made just two appearances thus far.
