Araujo out for Valencia clash

Ronald Araujo will missed Barcelona's clash with Valencia due to hamstring injury.

Following a conducted test on Thursday, it was confirmed that Araujo has suffered a hamstring injury in his right leg.

Araujo who was on international duty was forced to return early from the national squad for further tests  which disclosed he’s set for a spell on the sideilnes.

An expected date for his return has not yet been given.

Aside missing the game with Valencia, Araujo will also miss Barcelona's Champions League fixture when they welcome Dynamo Kyiv from Ukraine.

Barca released an official statement on the club’s website which read;

“Tests undertaken this morning confirmed that first team player, Ronald Araujo, has a right hamstring injury, making him unavailable for selection. The medical team will monitor how his injury evolves.”

Barcelona have endured a series of bad luck with respect to injuries recently after Sergino Dest injured his ankle when playing for the United States.

However, the right-back has recovered quickly from the injury and will be fit to play against Valencia on Sunday, but Araujo will be cheering his teammates on from the sidelines.

Araujo has played nine times for the Catalan club this season, seven in LaLiga and two in the Champions League.

The aggressive centre-back has scored just once for Barcelona with his goal earning a point for the side against Granada at Camp Nou.
