Scholes has urged his former team-mate to get the right balance in order to fire his men to win games.
Manchester United are having a yo-yoing start to the 2021/2022 season where they seem to flatter to deceive in many occasions.
A bright start to the season in August has been stuttered by defeats against Young Boys, West Ham United and Aston Villa coupled with a recent draw against Everton.
Solskjaer is under pressure to deliver this season following United’s big recruitments in the summer and Scholes has given advice to the Norwegian coach.
“Ole doesn’t seem to be able to get the balance right in that team,” Scholes told Webby and O’Neill.
“Is he going to play that one with the rest around him (Scot McTominay), and have Pogba next to him (Scot McTominay) who he probably doesn’t trust defensively? Or is he going to play two holding midfield players.
“That’s the difference between United and I think Liverpool and City – they are much more aggressive, more attack-minded.
“I think if Ole can get that right with that balance in the team… going forward I don’t think is a problem. Going forward we’ve got so many exciting players with Cristiano [Ronaldo] coming.
“Defensively we look good again. I know Maguire is out injured but once he’s back which will be hopefully after the international break.
“It just seems to be getting that one person in the middle of the pitch right, that balance of the team. But once he gets that, I think we’ll be alright.”
