The last time Spain played Italy was during Euro 2020 as the Azzurri defeated them on penalties in the semi-finals.
Both teams will meet again on Wednesday in the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
And with Enrique who somehow wants a revenge says he ‘can’t wait’ for the ‘interesting match’ against Italy and disclosed his players are highly motivated.
"We are playing the reigning European champions in their country.
"It was already an attractive proposition before the EUROs took place: to play Italy in Italy in the final four [of the UEFA Nations League],” Luis Enrique told UEFA.com.
"This is a competition that we would love to win, and strangely we will play against the reigning European champions in their country.
"It will be a very interesting match, to see what kind of performance we are capable of producing in front of an Italian-majority crowd and against the reigning European champions," he added.
"You don’t need any more motivation than that. I can’t wait for the game.
"Without doubt, Italy’s style of football is one of the best around, and I’m sure it will be very interesting to see how each team counters the other."
Spain will be without regular figures of Alvaro Morata and Villarreal's Gerard Moreno as the duo are currently injured.
