Bent says it would be the best outcome for all parties involved if the England international is sold to the Citizens in January.
Kane has been flirting with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium towards the end of last season and the summer transfer window was dominated with rumours of him getting close to joining Manchester City.
Any move away from North London could not materialize and he decided to stay for another season but Bent believes the 28-year-old could secure a transfer to join the Premier League champions.
“In January? Potentially,” the former Sunderland and Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT when talking about the future of the Kane.
“We know he’s going to start scoring in the Premier League but it just depends on the situation of the two clubs.
“For all concerned, it might be best that he goes to Manchester City and Spurs get the £150m or whatever they want and give Nuno a chance to dip quickly into the transfer market.
“That’s the only thing. In a short window like January when everyone knows that you’ve got £150million to spend all of the sudden the players’ prices go up.”
