Mbappe has been angling for a move away from Paris Saint-Germain and is reluctant to sign a new deal at the Parc de Princess despite being offered a new deal by the club.
And with the arrival of Lionel Messi from Barcelona on a free transfer, the French forward was reportedly planning to move away from the shadows of the Argentine player.
Benzema, speaking with L'Equipe is confident Mbappe will join him at Madrid soon.
“He said it himself, he wants to see and experience something else. He will play for Real Madrid some day, I don’t know when but he will come. It’s just a matter of time,” said Benzema.
Benzema also discussed the arrival of Edouardo Camavinga as he is optimistic the former Lille youngster will develop having played with experienced players at Santiago Bernabeu.
“I didn’t know him personally, he’s just 18 years old and he can only improve and develop by playing with the likes of Casemiro, Kroos or Modric,” explained the attacker.
Real Madrid lost their regular centre-backs of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane to PSG and Manchester United respectively but Benzema insists Real are still the best club.
“Real Madrid are still the best club in the world. We didn’t rebuild, this is just a new era in football with new players. We have to invest in young player so that one day they become great footballers, and I’m here to help them. I talk a lot with them, I want to improve them as players. When you improve the rest, you improve the team and you obtain great satisfaction by doing that,” he added.
Benzema, known for his scoring prowess has scored 8 goals with seven assists in seven Laliga appearances for Real Madrid as the Los Blancos are leading the table with 17 points.
