Southgate Names England Squad For Upcoming World Cup Qualifiers

England head coach Gareth Southgate has named his squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary in the World Cup qualifiers.

The Three Lions will be facing Andorra and Hungary on October 9 and 12 respectively in a bid to reach the next year’s Mundial in Qatar.

Defender Fikayo Tomori has earned his second international call up following his exploits in Serie A with AC Milan.

Chelsea’s Reece James and Luke Shaw picked up minor injuries recently but have been added to the list while Ben White failed to make it.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire and full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold could not make the list as they are both out injured.

John Stones was given a call despite his lack of involvement so far in Pep Guardiola’s team this season.

New Arsenal signing Aaron Ramsdale returned to the fold due to his mesmeric performances at the Emirates Stadium and striker Ollie Watkins got a call up too.

Here is the squad in full…

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale.

Defenders: Conor Coady, Reece James, Tyrone Mings, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker.

Midfielders: Phil Foden, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Mason Mount, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice.

Forwards: Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Ollie Watkins.
