Both Chiellini and Jorginho were instrumental in Italy's Euro 2020 triumph, having defeated England on penalties at Wembley.
With Juventus set to host Chelsea in a Champions League fixture on Wednesday, Chiellini wants Jorginho who guided The Blues to Champions League success last term to be named as Ballon d'Or winner this year.
"I truly hope he will be able to win it, because he's a good friend of mine," said Chiellini.
"And it would also be an award that I will also feel is mine, being an Italian of course, and as a player involved in a win and emotions that will always be in our hearts.
"I'd always thought that Jorginho was a good player... Since (Italy boss Roberto) Mancini arrived and was able to give continuity, I was able to realise just how good he is and what a top player he really is.
"Maybe he doesn't have the greatest physical qualities, but the real difference lies in his head and his mentality."
Juventus are not in the best of form this season, winning just two in their eight Serie A matches but won their first Champions League game at Malmo.
And eyeing for a top spot in the Champions League Group H, the Bianconeri will do everything they can to claim the three maximum points at the Juventus Allianz Arena though will be without Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata.
